terra skåne – the swedish wine region

Terra Skåne is not Bourgonge. It is not Piedmont. It’s something unique. Terra Skåne is now being launched – a joint initiative that puts north-western Skåne on the wine map.

In north-western Skåne, the vineyards are close together. Under the name Terra Skåne, nine vineyards are now joining forces in a joint marketing initiative, with the aim of increasing awareness of Swedish wines and attracting more people to visit the vineyards and north-western Skåne all year round. The initiative is backed by the City of Helsingborg, Höganäs Municipality, Ängelholm Business Association and Båstad Tourism & Business Association. The goal is to raise the profile and strengthen the emerging wine region, which has already gained international attention, partly thanks to our Immelen 2022 wine, which was served at the Nobel Banquet in 2025.

Monday, 2 March will be the first appearance. Terra Skåne will participate in the Swedish final of Star Wine List. Star Wine List is often referred to as the Michelin Guide of the wine world and recommends the best wine bars and restaurants in 45 countries. Every year, the top wine lists and the teams behind them are recognised. At The Winery Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden's best wine establishments will be selected from among 68 candidates, followed by the world finals, which will be held on the Kullahalvön peninsula. Around 200 of the world's best sommeliers and wine writers are expected to come here to literally taste and tread the unique terroir that produces these distinctive wines.
The Star Wine List of the Year Global Final will be held on 15 June.

“After having held our previous Global Finals in major cities like London, Vienna and Stockholm, we can’t wait to bring our celebration to the exciting new wine region of Terra Skåne in southern Sweden,” says Krister Bengtsson, Star Wine List’s founder and publisher.
“It is such a beautiful surrounding and, with the midsummer light, this will be an event to remember for our finalists and guests traveling from all corners of the world.”

Terra Skåne is based on our unique location, climate and Skåne soil. Here, wines are produced that take their cue from a Nordic climate, with long, light summers, innovative cultivation methods and craftsmanship that develops with each passing year.
The initiative is a joint marketing effort between municipalities and vineyards, not a designation of origin or a set of rules.
“Terra Skåne is about joining forces and telling a shared story about the wine landscape that has emerged in north-western Skåne. There is a wealth of knowledge and passion among wine producers, and through this collaboration we want to make it easier for more people to discover Swedish wines and visit the region,’ says Linus Svensson, Höganäs Municipality.

In connection with the launch, the new website www.terraskane.se will open, where all the wineries will be presented together.
“For us as a winery, Terra Skåne is an important step. Together, we will have a stronger voice and better opportunities to reach out with our wines and our experiences. It makes a big difference to be part of a context,” says Viktor Dahl, CEO of Kullabergs Vingård.

Wineries participating in Terra Skåne: Kullabergs Vingård, Aftonmora Vingård, Aplagården Boutique Winery, Arilds Vingård, Halldora, Ljungbyholms Vingård, Thora Vingård, Lottenlund Estate och Vejby Vingård.
